Stockholm (part 2)

GARLIC AND SHOTS restaurant/bar! Everything on the menu is infused with garlic; beer, shots, etc... Yes, beer/shots infused with garlic are not that good! I had so much fun meeting friends of Niklas who I'll be seeing a lot more of when we move to Stockholm this summer. The food here gave HUGE portions. I ate a garden burger the size of a cow...

The next day we headed to the Gamlastan district ("gamla" means old, "stan" means town) for some walking around. A very quaint area with traditional Swedish style:

Systembolaget - aka liquor store. This one shown here is in Gamlastan and is an original style of what liquor stores used to look like. You take a number and order from the displays instead of pick out the bottles and purchase at the cash register.

This picture displays the little candles that you'll see sitting outside of business signaling they're open. It's so precious!
Backside of the Riksdag

Entrance to the Riksdag area and downtown Stockholm.

Wall art

Niklas demonstrating how narrow the streets are.

SWEDISH PIZZA! It's so good.

"Sittin' at the dock of a bay..." or a jetty of the lake...

The chair....

...is on springs
And now we're in another neighborhood of Stockholm called Sodermalm. It's considered to be a trendy, new area with couture eateries, boutiques and people:

Last homestead of the trip! We stayed with Niklas' Uncle Lars and fiancee Markus. I was welcomed with the best food and drinks ever!

Markus is Finnish and so I got to taste test some of Finland's finest, Pepparkakkor, a salty licourice liquor and some Finnish beer. I would probably pass up the liquor next time, but the beer was great :)
